Parliament house visit

Last Thursday, 4 of our school leaders visited Queensland Parliament, at the invitation of our local member, Mr Michael Hart.
Parliament House was originally built in 1839. We walked through rooms that the longest reigning Queen  - Elizabeth II, has walked before. The red chamber is used only for special occasions, such as the visit of Queen Elizabeth. She has visited Queensland Parliament five times. We walked through the green and red chambers, which had been restored after being infested by African termites.
We watched an interesting and intense question time for about an hour.
We also had a lovely 3 course meal with Mr Hart in the Strangers’ Dining Room after our tour. Thank you to Mr Hart for inviting us to Parliament House.
